HOW TO BUILD A SOLAR PANEL
So you think you’re ready to dive and learn how to build a solar panel? Don’t do it! It’s a scam! You’re getting duped! What makes you think you can do that? Are you serious? Why? If you haven’t heard any of this yet, YOU WILL! Ok may be not all of it, but as with anything that is “against the grain”, “not the norm” etc, you’re going to get flack from friends, neighbors, co-workers, spouses, your pets..ok may be not your pets, but you get what I mean. And you’re planning on buying a guide that teaches you how to build one off the Internet!??? God forbid!
YOU’RE CRAZY! DON’T BE TAKEN! IT WILL NEVER WORK!
Now if you went and invested 30k into a “custom” system, all your friends, neighbors, co-workers would think you’re making a wise investment. But the Internet? You’re planning to buy a guide on how to build a solar panel off the Internet?! You don’t know what you’re getting half the time! What if you get taken?! What if it doesn’t work?!.. STOP IT!!! First of all, don’t buy anything off the Internet if it doesn’t offer a money back guarantee. That aside, this day an age, the Internet is a great place to research and gather information to help you make an informed decision about a purchase. You need to start somewhere, and hopefully the article and the articles on this site prove helpful in adding to your knowledge.
The bottom line is that solar panel technology is not that complicated. The technology is really not anything new, and with some time and effort the “average Joe” can learn how to build a solar panel from scratch. After that, they can then duplicate that process and build their own full blown system that brings them years of clean, relatively free energy. If you’re not the do it yourself type and you have the money, go ahead and hire someone to come follow the instructions that an affordable do it yourself (DIY) guide provides. Then again, there is no hurry to get a system up, the sun isn’t going anywhere! Make it a project, involve your children, grandchildren or a good buddy. Now I personally can’t take you step by step through how to build a solar panel, but that’s exactly what the products I’ve reviewed on this site will teach you how to do. Hopefully however, I can at least empower you to make the decision to learn more building your own home solar power system.
WHERE TO START
Ok now that you’ve decided to take the dive, it’s time to start researching a good electrical engineering program out there that will educate you on the electrical and electronic theory in order to grasp the complex electronics found in a home solar power system…NOT! Ok, Ok. I’m done with the jokes. But seriously, with a good DIY guide, some basic tooling and the ability to follow directions you can build a solar power system of any size. Once you learn to build a single solar panel, you just duplicate what you’ve learned and do it over and over (see How Many Solar Panels). I mean, why not? Really, why not? The sun comes up and goes down everyday and as long as you plan to live a typical lifestyle, one that requires consuming electricity, your utility company is going to send you a bill in the mail for living like that. So, why not build a system that harnesses this energy. The materials to build a solar panel can be ordered online and home delivered or at your local hardware and electrical supply store. The project itself can literally be completed over a solid weekend and it will most likely be the most profitable time you’ve spent on a home improvement project.
Home solar power systems are growing at an astounding rate. The United States is actually behind Germany and Denmark who are well on their way to having solar and wind power (see Homemade Wind Turbines) as a major generator of power. It just makes sense. Common sense. Sure it’s not the “norm”, but since when is the “norm” the right thing to do? Start a trend on your block. Take the knowledge you gain on building your own system and share it or sell it to another person. Yes I said sell. Why not? Start a home-based business. In this economy, saving money is popular now and will continue to be. Be a rebel. A renegade. Do it. Do it today!
